DEVIL’S WALL

DEVIL’S WALL: The Devil’s Wall is one of South Bohemia’s most renowned and popular rock sites. Spanning approximately 10 hectares, a wild cliff strewn with chaotically piled granite boulders stretches over the deep Vltava valley. The area is situated approximately 4 km west of Vyšší Brod, along the route leading to Loučovice. The precipitous rock formation, replete with substantial boulders, is also referred to as the “stone sea”. According to an age-old legend, this geological phenomenon was brought to existence by the devil himself. This location is ideal for a romantic excursion; however, visitors are kindly requested to refrain from climbing directly on the rocks.
