CHURCH OF ST. TOMAS: The Church of St. Thomas is located a short distance from the village of Pasečná and can be easily reached by car, on foot or by bike. The church’s construction is thought to have been initiated by Peter I of Rožmberk in 1347, except for the sacristy on the north side, which is believed to be of a much older origin. This element dates back to the church constructed under the leadership of Vitek of Rožmberk in 1252. The church was rebuilt in the late Gothic style, and Neo-Gothic modifications were made. It fell into ruin on two occasions: in the aftermath of the Josephine reforms and in the 1950s. In 1991, the reconstruction project was initiated under the leadership of the Archbishopric of České Budějovice and the parish of Frýdlant. Following the completion of the necessary works, the church was re-consecrated and opened to the public.
